Do you remember where it was and/or who you were with?

I would start at the county courthouse in the county where the offense occurred, you may be able to do this online.

You can purchase them online at the DPS site.

If it was a small town maybe there was never an official arrest. Back in the 70's everybody was drunk!

Get yourself arrested again... I bet the old record gets found instantly.
Seriously....As others have said... if the local court where the arrest was originally recorded is unable to find it, get them to send you a"no records found" letter and declare the arrest on your application, include the "no records found" letter with your application. It may cause some delay in processing, but at least you won't be denied for failure to disclose.

Here is what I did when looking for arrest records. It should prove to be helpful for anyone else:
viewtopic.php?f=36&t=68655" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Simply find the county clerk's website & search criminal records. Tada.

publicdata.com works pretty well for Texas. It's not as good as going directly to county / arrest jurisdiction.

http://www.dps.texas.gov/administration ... es/faq.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Texas DPS. Under $5.00 for an on line search.

Back in the 60s I got arrested for minor in possession at age 19. I was fined a whopping $10, and released. It was a small town and I had no idea how to get an arrest record or even exactly when it occurred. On my application I just explained this and apparently it was ok because I got the license. I don't think old non violent misdemeanors are a concern.

So what you're saying is . . . you don't exactly know when you were 19?
