So my 3rd day having my CHL and my wife wanted to go to the Cinemark theater with our daughter... Now I know in Aurora it was a gun free zone and that is why the shooter picked that theater. I decided not to bring in my weapon but I did have my holster on me as a means of protesting. When i walked in I didn't see any signs on the doors or anything with the 30.06 sign. So my questions is.. Did i miss it? Am I wrong and I could of gone with my weapon? I went to the theater in Rockwall and included the the URL to the theater.
Looking forward to feedback or anyone has gone to that theater specifically?

Check out
http://www.Texas3006.net" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for places where other like minded, as us, have posted locations that have proper,or improper postings
I am having issues with my PC or I would look it up for you.
I can also say, if you were looking and did not see it, then even if they have it posted, is it "prominently" displayed? And to that, i would say no, and carry.
Once you read where the sign is (if it is there at all) and next time there, you look there and see it, then you have been notified.

thanks for the update on the 3006 site. One place that was mentioned (Not a 3006 sign) was the ticket window. I will have to check and see. If it's not a 3006 sign then I am going in with it.

I guess that teaches me to assume.. I am going to take a walk by that area and inspect in more detail.

Grapevine Cinemark (Tinseltown) is not posted either that I've seen. I've looked carefully.
AMC, on the other hand, IS posted, though it is an irrelevant 8/12"x11" piece of paper. If I were inclined to spend my money where it isn't wanted, I'd walk past it.
I can drive by the AMC to get to the Cinemark, depending on the route that I choose. If I go that way, I make sure to give them a Bronx cheer as I pass.

I carry in Cinemark all the time. They have a sign by the ticket window that says I'm not allowed to bring firearms or food/drink from outside. Since they don't sell or provide firearms inside, I figured its okay for me to carry. I think the no firearms part of the sign only applies to criminals.
No 30.06 - Carry on!

Now on a matter of other principles outside of 2A, I refuse to go to Cinemark for their anti-gay stance. My fave theater was neither AMC/Cinemark. One day we were watching a movie & a Cinemark trailer came on. I looked it up, Rave Theaters was bought by Cinemark! :(

None of the Cinemark theaters I've been to are posted though I think they have a fairly small "no guns" type language printed on the ticket counter glass. I don't remember because if I don't see a 30.06 sign, I don't worry about it.
As an aside, I can't believe how expensive the movie going experience has gotten. With a small child and another on the way, we don't have much time to go out these days but the times we do we usually go to an establishment called the Star Cinema Grill. Dinner and a movie in one place isn't too bad and the food is cheaper than the usual overpriced theater fare.

I've been in several different Cinemark theaters and I think the only thing they have is at the ticket windows that mentions a few things they prohibit. The last one at the bottom says something like "firearms are prohibited." It doesn't mean a thing to someone with a CHL. Well, actually it does, carry away!
I've only been to a couple of UA theaters. They made a half-hearted attempt at posting a 30.06 sign by putting it on an 8.5x11" piece of paper down in the corner of one of their windows. Not legal notice.

Huh? What do you mean anti-gay? Do they have a sign that says, "no gays?" If they did post that, it's unAmerican. I mean, it's a free country, right?
Or did the CEO make some stupid statements like the Starbucks CEO?

If you google "cinemark anti-gay" there are a bunch of links claiming the CEO donated $10k for "Prop 8" (my memory is fading, but I think that was a CA gay marriage ballot issue).

Around that time, "Milk" came out, the movie about Harvey Milk, San Francisco's first openly gay politician & had many people upset about it playing in a theater that was openly against what it stood for.
