Is there a good place in Austin to buy concealed carry holsters? Looking for a place with a good selection of different brands.
It's been years since I've been to McBrides. Do they many holsters?

there's not a whole lot of selection here..
well, there's a fair selection of fairly mainstream stuff, Galco, etc..
but you won't find much in the way of more handmade stuff of course
try Mcbrides like you said, GT Distributors, Heritage

Are you looking for something in particular or just starting your shopping?
Even in a place as big as San Antonio, I have found that the selection of some of the better ones is limited.

The third weekend of every month there is a gun show up on N. Lamar, and there's always a guy there with a wide variety of holsters. He's got several brands and styles and was very helpful when I was looking for a holster.
Thanks

Thanks guys. I am only in town until Thursday but I figured the selection here HAS to be better than in Tyler. How about Sportsman's Warehouse? I'm not looking for anything custom made, just looking for a holster for my SW 686, 2.5 inch. I want something OWB, as I despise IWB carry (too uncomfortable).
I'll check out McBrides. Anywhere else to check out? Cabelas? Sportsmans Warehouse?

If you know what you're looking for, Tom at Heritage is a good guy to order through. If you're not sure what you want, he's a good guy to discuss it with. Also, there's always other customers in there with opinions and options
Tucker isn't that far away if you don't mind traveling a little...
Thanks

I've got a few Bianchi holsters from McBride's. They have a good selection of IWB and OWB holsters, but only a few shoulder rigs and a small selection of mag carriers.
I am waiting to see what happens with what so far has been a disappointing experience with McBride's. I ordered a Galco shoulder rig through them about a month ago, and went in today to check on status yet again, as it has been "back ordered" since I ordered the thing all that time ago. I went in and asked about it, and after a few minutes, was told that something happened with the order placement, and that it was "ordered wrong", whatever that means. Since they didn't cite it as Galco's mistake, my guess is that they screwed it up. The entire reason I went there is because they are local and I figured they would have what I was looking for in stock. When they didn't, I figured it would be just as easy to order from them as ordering it online, so had them make a special order for it. Had I known what a hassle it would be, I would have just ordered the thing online and had it long ago.
So you're in town until Thursday? Wanna go shooting?
Sure...

Not sure where Heritage is. Tucker has his workshop in Oak Ridge (across the freeway from The Woodlands). Rob Longenecker is his Houston area rep, and can probably help you figure out what you need if you give him a call.
You might want to check out Shooter's Station in Conroe (west of I-45 on 105) if you're coming down this way, though, because they stock a variety of holsters, including several Tucker models.

Are they open to the public? I'd heard they sold ONLY to dealers & LEOs . . .

From what I can tell on their website, that's only for guns. I found a sales policy regarding who can buy guns, specified by manufacturer, and it seems to be LEO (or other public servants, in some cases) only. I looked over the site for a while, and didn't find anything about other equipment. They seem to have really low prices, though - so maybe so.
