I got a matching set of billet upper and lower receivers for my AR. Thought I'd share the pics:

Little of both. Functionally, this upper has the extended feed ramps cut into it. The old one didn't. And this one has a nicely beveled mag well. Some billet lowers are fully ambidextrous, altbough this one is not. SWAT receivers are guaranteed fully Mil-Spec. These are a matched set, so the upper and lower are a perfect fit. There is no slop between them, so they lock up tight to one another. That may help accuracy, although I haven't shot it yet.

But there is no doubt that appearance helped me decide on these specifically. And finally, I had the opportunity to get this set in trade for services rendered by my business, so there was no cash outlay involved.
