Originally I was "meh, another day, another 9mm." But I like the concept of a grip safety SAO version for the price point being mentioned. Even though I have 2 (well, three when the next one is shipped :tiphat: ) M&Ps I'm not a great fan of DAO triggers, coming from a 1911 background.

Looks like something You would expect to see on an episode of the Jetsons.

Its definitely a different looking gun. At first I didn't like it all that much but the more I look at it the more I like it. If I run into one at a good enough price I might just have to grab one.

it looks unique, but how many rds it holds? I would say it could be a nice ankle-wear pistol.

7+1

The article says a .40 is next in the lineup. That might be the one I keep my eye out for.

That's exactly my reaction also. The review looks very good, especially with 8 guns shooting thousands of rounds and one failure to feed. I'm impressed. The MSRP of $389 is also surprising. That will probably result in a street price around $350.

Thats impressively low given its an all metal gun. How do they do that so inexpensively ? (looks in every 1911 maker's general direction) :headscratch.

I started out on a SA only carry and was raised on them. I still miss their beautiful triggers especially for shooting competition.

That's unexpectedly nice :) Would be a hard sell for the CFO since it's pretty similar to my PPS....but

Since this is a light weight gun, do you guys think it will require 124 grain or 147 grain ammo to make it function properly?

I think that's a good expectation, except for the expected first wave of pistols hitting Gunbroker for 2x retail price. What intrigues me as well is the SAO design. There's a LOT of simplification you can get by having an SAO firearm, so a good SAO that is grip-safety activated seems like it has great potential, not to mention the implied increase in accuracy by using a fixed barrel design like the Walther PP line. Lots of goodness in this one!

I was able to shoot an original R-51 in .380 a few years ago, I fell in love with that gun. This new one looks like a modern curvy 9mm version of the old one, I will probably look into one in the near future.

Wow I wasn't thinking that I would be interested but after reading that review I can't wait to get my hands on one. If it feels as good as it looks then it's on my short list.
