At the city of San Antonio owned Alamodome. Not a school sponsored event and not a professional sporting event. Security wanding and checking bags at the door. Asked about CHL carry and they said no weapons allowed including CCW or knives.

Would you have pushed the issue and tried to carry anyway?

No, but in all honesty, we're 'stay at home' old folks for the most part and avoid crowded events.

I wouldn't argue with them about it but the highest law of the land says my right to carry weapons shall not be infringed, so when I carry past those Checkpoint Charlies I don't feel any guilt by honoring the highest laws of Man.

I went to a high school football game there earlier this year and they weren't wanding, and their "checking bags" was looking inside of whichever pockets I chose to have open at the moment soooooo, I suppose you could do it if you chose to, but I really wouldn't want to be the test case.

but then much as I love the Spurs, I probably wouldn't go, I'll be watching tonight on TV, much better seats and less noise.

what exactly are the us army all ameircan bowl and san Antonio star games??? sounds like either pro or college sports, if the weren't yes I would in fact have asked to see someone with real authority


the us army all ameircan bowl qualifies as a scholastic event sorry its a no carry period so is that all star game

the event is sanctioned by several entities including the NCAA and that makes it a school sponsored event sorry checked it out already, the US Army uses its advertising department to give money and let its name be used but is an IFAF event and sanctioned by them as well as NCAA the big 12 so yep its a school event

It's owned and produced by a company called All American Games. It has nothing to do with the NCAA as I can tell from their website.

(b) A license holder commits an of fense if the license holder intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly carries a handgun under the authority of Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code, regardless of whether the handgun is concealed, on or about the license holder's person: (1) on the premises of a business that has a permit or license issued under Chapter 25, 28, 32, 69, or 74, Alcoholic Beverage Code, if the business derives 51 percent or more of its income from the sale or service of alcoholic beverages for on-premises consumption, as determined by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission under Section 104.06, Alcoholic Beverage Code; (2) on the premises where a high school, collegiate, or professional sporting event or interscholastic event is taking place, unless the license holder is a participant in the event and a handgun is used in the event;


I would certainly regard this as a "high school sporting event". I would not want to test it in court.
