Harvey Weinstein & Meryl Streep planning anti-NRA movie

I know the stock answer is "who cares what Hollywood thinks". But a LOT of people watch this man's movies. Makes this worth paying attention for the political implications. Here's hoping this bombs like "Ishtar" (I think I just dated myself with that reference).

Mr. Stern asked Mr. Weinstein on Wednesday if he owned a gun. The Hollywood heavyweight replied that he does not and never would. “I don’t think we need guns in this country. And I hate it,” the producer said. “I think the NRA is a disaster area.”
Mr. Weinstein then revealed his secret project about the gun rights group. “I shouldn’t say this but I’ll tell it to you, Howard,” he said. “I’m going to make a movie with Meryl Streep, and we’re going to take this head on. And they’re going to wish they weren’t alive after I’m done with them.”

This hypocrite who has made millions off of violent films involving firearms wants to destroy us, since we are the NRA.

Mr. Weinstein is jewish.
He needs to remember that Hitler outlawed Jewish posession of firearms in 1938 before he extirminated 8 million Jews.
Or does Mr. Weinstein think the holocaust never happened?

I saw a movie where only the police and the military had guns. It was really great. The movie was Schindler's list.

Mr. Stern pointed out the inconsistencies in Mr. Weinstein’s earlier comments about a project about Jews defending themselves during the Holocaust. The producer replied that the justification for using a gun is “when you’re marching a half of a million people into Auschwitz.”
By the time you are marching to Auschwitz its too late to demand your right to self denfense

I am still surprised how many Jews are anti-gun.
Oddly, most of the Jewish kids I grew up with are staunch conservatives. They drilled WWII and Holocaust history into us at religious school (conservative to Orthodox Judaism), but at the temple across town (reformed Judaism) the kids were not exposed to the history of the Holocaust. Those kids are now mostly stark raving libs.

he's made hundreds of millions off of movies with guns....I think he just wants to try to make one without, and see if he can do it....and piss off a bunch of people in the process....in other words, it's an experiment.

Yup, the film will probably be watched by all 3 people who think either Weinstein or Streep are worth listening to.

He and Streep will not be getting any of my money for this film or any other. Once you hit my boycott list, it is permanent.
