I had about 75 Tex-NG a couple of years ago that were down here in the Valley with the Border Patrol.. All I did was write Military on the range profeciency

At Instructor renewal school in December they addressed this. You only put anything in the shooting proficiency section if they shoot for you. Otherwise, leave it blank.

I write "Military Waiver" in that section, instead of Pass or Fail. Have never had a problem with doing that.

Being from the old corp I cannot understand any marine passing on a chance to shoot. The don't have to, but it's a lot easier than scanning a copy of their handgun qualification from the corp and emailing it to DPS. :txflag:

That makes sense. Use the same process for anybody who chooses to skip the range test. If they choose to shoot with a different instructor, that instructor will indicate pass/fail. If they choose to send paperwork in lieu of shooting, DPS will evaluate that paperwork. It takes the guesswork out of the equation why they're not shooting, because it really shouldn't matter to the instructor. Only to DPS.

That's the way I do the paper work also. Still I've not had a Marine not want to shoot. My mind cannot even comprehend that could be possible.
