I like mine and have never had an issue firing it. I carry Federal LE rounds which are fairly identical to Federal hydrashocks.

On the right side of the slide there is a bolt that holds down the extractor spring and keeps the firing pin in place. Make sure that it is snug. If it loosens and you start having extraction problems again you may have to put a very small amount of BLUE Loc-Tite on the threads. Also make sure that there is no debris in the extractor hook.
The fired primers do look odd compared to other guns I've used. But they look the same for all brands of ammo. You can actually see the outline of the firing pin hole on the primer. This gun uses a very light rebounding firing pin that may contribute. This seems to be typical of most of the PF9s. I've seen several pics on the net and the look pretty much the same.
Try some different brands of ammo. Mine likes Federal, Tula Brass, Remington and Hornady( all 115 grain). It doesn't like Winchester White Box of recent manufacture (extraction prob) or Monarch (lite strikes). I haven't tried any Winchester SD ammo as I suspect that they may use the same cases as white box. Of course as the manual says we can't use steel or aluminum cased ammo or anything that is polymer coated. I guess you could say it's ammo finicky.
I've had mine for about 3 years and haven't had any problems with it since determining which ammo it likes.

Something to check - take the barrel out and slide an unfired round in, check for looseness, slip in one of your fired casings in and check to see how tight it is. I unfired is way loose, and fired case is tight, could be someone fluffed and buffed a little too much on the chamber. Causes extraction and feeding problems because of overexpanded cases, gases escaping around the case, as well as slamming the just fired case's primer onto the firing pin before it can retract and possible rupturing it. Just a thought...
BTW - the primers in the photo do not look overpressured, what indicated to you that there was overpressure? The casings don't look like there is an extractor issue. As suggested - try alternate ammo. Some ammo has hard primers (S&B, the Russian made stuff, others) that run fine in most pistols but the firing pin in the KTs is a little light.
