Hey, did you all know that the TABC has a mobile app called Spirits Texas for Android and iPhone. It will show you "red" 51% establishments near you to avoid while carrying. A good supplement to texas3006.com
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... iritstexas" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/spirits ... 21055?mt=8" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This is NOT from the TABC. It is from an independent developer. Not sure where the data is coming from. It's free though, so will have to see how accurate it is from locations I am familiar with.

Well, apparently the developer says they are 'in partnership with the TABC'. App seems pretty decent. Pins on map are a little off when zoomed out, but once you zoom in it shows the correct location. Will be handy, especially for FREE.

It's easier to find if you search for TABC.
There's also (I've had it for a while, but had forgotten about it) a TABC complaint app; could be used for complaining about places with the incorrect sign posted.

If searching on your phone's app store, the name is all one word; SpiritsTexas.

This seems to work well, but it's actually missing an outdoor place close to my house. Pretty sure it's red but can't find it. Otherwise very handy.

There is a place in Plano that is posted 51% and has the Unlicensed sign. I really don't believe the 51% sign at all.
I think the owner either just posted every sign he could think may or may not apply to his restaurant or he wanted an easier way to ban firearms. He has a no weapons sign inside the front door, but it's not a proper 30.06 sign.
I tried to look them up on the TABC website and I couldn't find anything. It may have been user error.
Suggestions?

The app seems to be a good listing. It shows even the smallest markets, eateries, and bars. It looks like they have done an excellent job for my area in the lists. It does seem to have some mapping issues.

It's difficult to lookup licenses on the TABC site, because the actual licensee's name is different. I download my complete county list (zip file) and lookup the license number. Then it is easy to search TABC. There is also a link to complain if the establishment is posting the wrong sign.

Contact the TABC Primary Enforcement/Compliance Office in McKinney listed here
http://www.tabc.state.tx.us/contact_us/ ... Collin.asp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and advise them of the dual signage. They will contact the proprietor and have them fix the issue.

However, it looks like this license has been voluntarily cancelled. They may be working on a new license and it isn't in the database yet. Either way, contact TABC and they will get the owner straightened out.
