Glock 34 Drifting to the Right?

I have a new G34 :biggrinjester:

The problem is inside of 7 yards the gun is fairly accurate but past 10 yards it pushes the round slightly to the right and it gets worse as push out to 20 yards. It is not predictable in the sense that I can adjust the sights and be done, I've tried that, even replaced the sights.

So I swapped a barrel out of a Gen 3 G34 (one of our rental guns with a LOT of rounds through it) and noticed an immediate improvement. My questions;

1. Has anyone else experienced this?

2. I don't see anything wrong in the barrel, could it be warped, lands and grooves not right, something I can't see..etc?

Thanks in advance :confused5

If a gun shoots to the right, the greater the distance, the greater [more inches] the drift. This means that it is predictable. It probably is something you can't see.

Pistol accuracy can be a tricky thing. Try shooting it from a real pistol rest with the original barrel. The issue may be your shooting. Nothing personal, but especially with a new gun 90% of the time accuracy issues are the shooter and not the pistol. A pistol rest will help to minimize human error.

I have a new Gen4 G34. First thing I did was ditch the plastic "adjustable" sight. The entire mechanism is plastic and doesn't hold zero at all. There are plenty of great sight options out there for G34s.

Good luck. Let us know what you find out.

thatguy,

Since I've seen you shoot on many occasions, and have seen your scores from several GSSF indoor matches I can vouch for your shooting basics. Check out this thread on Pistol-forum for some things to look at.

I'm interested in what you find out as well.
