What would be the best belt holster for my Glock 23 for concealed carry and IDPA matches?

Comptac paddle or similar would probably work for both

Rich,
I don't know about the IDPA part.
The "UCR" IWB holster from Threat Solutions is the lightest and most comfortable IWB you can find. However Threat Solutions is a part time one man thing. It may take awhile to get your holster.
I saw this on another board;
http://www.desantisholster.com/kydex-holsters.html
This DeSantis holster(Scorpion) looks just like a "UCR". It is probably thicker Kydex and may be heavier and less flexable?? I haven't handled one.
Maybe you can find somebody that sells DeSantis and look at a Scorpion and try it on?
I love my "UCR" I wish I could get one for a SIG too!
I read somewhere that Glock Racing sells the "UCR" and you can call them to see if they have it in stock, but you pay a little more.
Good Luck!

I know severl that carry a mid sixed Glock. All swear by the Comp-tac holsters. The ones that I have seen were top notch.

If you're undecided as to leather or kydex, Tucker makes a fine leather and kydex hybrid. They come in IWB and OWB styles.
I's sure I'll be corrected if wrong, but I believe that either of the Comp-tac or Tucker products would serve you well for carry and IDPA.
Don't overlook Milt Sparks holsters. They seem to have a tremendous following. Thier products are top notch. Several here swear by Sparks leather goods.

Gotta throw in my plug for DelFatti Leather. His backlog gives you plenty of time to save up.

Just to add, while searching for the "right" holster, don't forget a good belt. It is a system. While a good holster may work, it will work much better when combined with a good belt. You could use a Wal-Mart belt. Many do and are satisfied. Once you use a good belt you will understand and will never go back.

True 'nuff on the belt. I carried a Para P14 for several years as a concealed gun, but wore a regular belt.
I got a "rig" and I was floored at how comfortable it was. At the end of the day, nothing on me hurt.

Thank You all for your recommendations…I want to be able to do it right the first time, no sense in the trial and error method.

I have been very pleased with my FIST OWB holster (see signature). It holds tighter to the body than any OWB holster I've ever seen, so it conceals very easily with nothing but an untucked polo or t-shirt (which is how I carry daily).
I have had very good luck with Gunner's Alley for my past 4-5 holster purchases. I've tried Sidearmor, Comp-Tac, Don Hume, Jim Burke, Uncle Mike's and several others. After finally getting a FIST, I don't see myself ever having a reason to get anything else. It's a great holster.

I would never say its the best, but for 4, almost 5 years...I have carried my Glock 23 in a standard leather Don Hume IWB with zero problems...Its comfortable...
I could say its well broken in, and until just this second was wondering if I even felt like it has lost any retention or other capability in that time...
I can't really feel if it has at all...
I am though looking to grab a nice holster that could be used for IDPA for the Glock...And some of these suggestions are exactly what I would look for, as well...

I just ordered my Comp Tac C-Tac IWB this week in the slide version for my Glock 23. The slide model will accomodate all barrel length models. I may look into a Glock 27 later. Can't wait to get my C-Tac and my CHL.

Another vote for the CTAC slide. I have one and it fits my 22, 23, 17, and 27.
