My Grand daughter is my companion at the gun range. Remember to teach the next generation about guns

Thats great! Same thing with my son. I started him on a bb gun at 7. I set him up a coke can and his first shot he hit it. That was it. He was hooked. Then I started him on a .22 single shot rifle. He is now 13 and I got him a Ruger Charger 10/22 that is scoped. Of course I keep it but he knows its his. And yes hearing the words "Dad I wanna go shoot again!" is great. He has grown up being around firearms because of me. He was little and the day he showed curiosity I started teaching him safety. Now at 13 he still wont touch a gun unless its with me and watches me check it and he checks it (I still have to help him with some with certain guns). That makes me proud to see him take it extremely serious which he should. We goof around and have a great time but when around a firearm its not play time and he knows it. But yeah passing that on to your kids is great.SpringerFan wrote:My son is only 7, but we shoot a ton of air-soft, BBs, and pellets in the back yard. His first .22 rifle is in the near future. My favorite words to hear: "Daddy, can we go out back and shoot?"
I haven't said no yet.
