The Pharr Police Department was visited by organizers of an Open Carry group planning to meet on Saturday March 15, 2014 in the late morning in a public area at the corner of U.S. 281 and Newcombe Avenue in front of the Junction Restaurant. The group has informed the department that they intend to exercise their right under the 2nd Amendment to posses and carry a firearm. The group reported that they would be carrying rifles and/or shotguns in a safe mode.

This message by the Pharr Police Department is intended to inform and alert the citizens of Pharr to include other motorists in the event that they travel on their own or with family to include children through this intersection and who may see this exhibition. This department is not sponsoring this meeting but solely seeks to keep its citizens informed.

Maybe the H is silent like Humble.

But the H in Humble is pronounced, at least by me.

We don't Oooh-Ston, so why would we say Umble?

I've never understood it, but then I get confused with Herbs...so what do I know...? Erbs, Herbs, huh?

For now, I'm going with Pa-Harr. It has a jaunty sound. Oh yeah, and I prefer Pa-Hone-Ix for Phoenix too.

And later, I'm going with Pah-Monia, gadabout that I am...

Pleasant Smith "Plez" Humble was a man so I reckon that he can pronounce his name any way he wants.

He may have been pleasant, but not humble and that was why he decided to drop the H.

Have you ever visited Yosemite? ;-)

Back on topic, this is a thread on the hopen carry demonstration. :rules:

I used to work in Reynosa, Mexico. Every day after work I took "A Bridge To Pharr".
