Over the last several years, there have been several robberies of Waffle House restaurants in Houston. I think that part of it is the locations tend to be near freeways so a quick get away is possible. Also it could be the they are open 24 hours so they can be robbed when most people are in bed asleep.CHLLady wrote:What's with all the Denny's and Waffle House type robberies lately? Can't people enjoy pancakes in peace anymore?
The article indicates the employees hit him with the dropped pitchfork. If they were close enough to hit him, wouldn't they have been close enough to stick him?WildBill wrote:Although I would prefer that all BGs use pitchforks rather than guns, I would say about this guy "what a loser!"

In Texas an assault using only the hands can be considered deadly force.rp_photo wrote:In Texas, I'm assuming that would have been considered a deadly weapon in the same manner as a knife with a deadly force response justified.
You don't need any weapon displayed at all to justify deadly force when someone is committing a robbery.rp_photo wrote:In Texas, I'm assuming that would have been considered a deadly weapon in the same manner as a knife with a deadly force response justified.
