I am looking for some honest, first hand, descriptions of the trigger on a Ruger SR9c. I understand that it is a re-design and have read it described as a hybrid between a DAO and SA trigger.

What's your opinion and how would you describe it? What lb pull is it? Is it horribly long like the LCP?

I'm not sure what a KSR9c is, but I own an SR9c, and it is striker fired, similar to the XD or Glock. I like the trigger on it, and its nothing like the trigger on the LC9 (DAO) which I didn't like at all. The SR series has the small release lever in the trigger much like the Glock and it doesn't seem to take a lot of let-off to reset it, either. I'm not a gunsmith nor firearms expert nor a firearms instructor, and YMMV.

Thanks for the reply. The "K" designator is simply Ruger's designation for the stainless model, so your answer is relevant. All SR9cs should be the same. I read the trigger was much better than the LC9 and then, by your confirmation, I assume much better than the LCP. I have also found some discussion regarding making the reset even better by removing the magazine interlock.

Just looking for real world experience with the weapon. I can't seem to find one locally to rent in order to shoot it before I make a final decision on the purchase though, so I thought this would be a good forum to ask.

You can dry fire it in the store. You'll quickly know if you like the feel or not.

Don't forget to check the trigger reset as well. Dry fire it, while keeping the trigger pulled all the way back. Re-rack the slide. Now let the trigger move forward until you feel the reset (click).

Pulling the magazine disconnect out gets rid of the jerky rough trigger feel. Did this to both of ours and triggers are fine now. Upgraded springs in one gun but do not feel like it helped as they both feel the same.

Also, it creates intermittent failures to fire. I removed the magazine disconnect on my SR-9. It worked fine for a while. After about a thousand rounds or so, it simply became unreliable. Failed to reset the striker. Fortunately, I discovered how bad it had gotten when I pulled it out of the safe one night to run it at IDPA. It failed to fire about 9 times in 4 courses of fire.

First move was to call Ruger customer service, planning to get a shipping label and send it back. That is when they told me removing the disconnect voided the warranty. "Click", I hung up immediately.

Had to get a new disconnect part from Brownell's because I couldn't find my original. Gun has been 100% ever since.
