Years ago Colt produced a .38 Special target model of the 1911. There were feeding problems with the rimmed cases, you could only shoot wadcutter ammo, and a K frame S&W or, a Colt Officer's Model Target could outshoot them.

I know little about Coonan guns, but judging from the past record of rimmed cases in 1911 style guns unless you are buying it as a curiosity or as an investment I would shy away. :tiphat:

If you want it because it is a Coonan, then by all means I would buy it. If you want something that has the same ballistics as the 357 Magnum, then I would get a 9X23 in a 1911. They are capable of much higher muzzle velocity.
