Anyone have any experience with Rainier Arms barrels? Thinking about one of these with the black oxide finish for my AR build. The feedback I've seen was positive but it's a little pricey at $260 when there are barrels to be had for 1/2 of that. I'm willing to pay more for quality but I want to make sure that's what I'm getting. Comments or suggestions welcomed.

I know that Ranier is a distributor of Noveske barrels.

What's you intended purpose for the AR

Thanks for the responses. I think I'm going to go ahead and make the purchase based on everything I've seen and heard. Noveske is almost double the Rainier price making that out of my price range though I've heard nothing but good when that name is mentioned also.

This is my first build from scratch and hopefully I haven't made any bad decisions. I've intentionally refrained from soliciting advice until now, the forums are filled with those. The barrel is what will make/break the build and there are so many to choose from it's hard to differentiate between them. Of course everyone claims theirs is the best but I found no negative comments on the Rainiers other than price. This will be the first polygonal barrel I've owned. The design looks to be much easier to clean, at least I hope it is.

I'm sure others have experienced the same thing but the anticipation is eating me up. I'll know in about 6 weeks or so when I get the remaining parts. I'm already over budget for this month and the first couple of weeks in July are going to be busy at work.

Can't go wrong with that choice. Only thing is if you were going with a low mass bcg a Nordic would have been a better choice. No need for adjustable gas block with those

Yea... That's why I didn't respond to your first question. I didn't want you to confuse my decision with facts.

Whatever happens with this build, I'm responsible. Much time was spent researching the potential choices and there is no shortage of opinions out there. Soliciting advice is akin to stepping into Ford vs. Chevrolet debate. I just decided I'd make my own mistakes. After all, the worst thing that could happen (assuming the firearm is safe) is that I've wasted some money and in the end I will have learned something.
