Was cleaning my .45 Kimber this morning after shooting it earlier in the week, and think I'm seeing a crack in the slide directly under the extractor 'tunnel'.
It starts at the extractor hole and goes about 2/3 of the way to the striker safety.

Didn't you just get into reloading? How hot are are those new rounds you are cranking out??
Seriously, I would sure contact Kimber about that one. Looks like a defective piece of metal or overall metal fatigue. I will bet they will want it back and replace it for you.

I just filled the shells with powder, and kinda leveled it off before seating the bullet -- isn't that how everybody does it?
I'll give them a call tomorrow. Apparently they don't have email support (at least that I can find).

I think I found your problem. Next you are either gonna need an orthopedic surgeon for your broken wrists, or the coroner for your kaboom.
I don't see an email or online support form either. I know with Springfield the support rep had me send him photos at his company email address while we were on the phone talking so he could see the issue. Worked great that way. I would much rather talk to someone directly than bounce email back and forth anyway.

About par for the course in my experience with Kimber quality.
Sorry to hear that - hope they treat you right.
