Despite the fact that the Surgeon General is little more than a spokesperson for HHS and is subordinate to both the Secretary HHS and Assistant Sec. for Health, we have a Surgeon General(acting), Rear Admiral(upper half) Boris Lushniak.

Admiral Lushniak is a Northwestern and Harvard educated physician with extensive experience in infectious disease control. He spent 16 years working at the CDC and was director of their anthrax team. He also served on teams overseas in Russia, Kosovo, and Bangladesh. Lushniak joined the Food and Drug Administration in 2004. He served as the Chief Medical Officer, Office of Counter-terrorism Policy and Planning in the Office of the Commissioner before being named FDA Assistant Commissioner, Counterterrorism Policy and Director of the Office of Counterterrorism and Emerging Threats.

Vivek Murthy, while a brilliant guy, has none of that experience. He is Harvard and Yale educated(MD & MBA)and has 10 years experience as a practicing physician in internal medicine in Boston and has taught as an instructor at the Harvard school of Medicine. His only qualification for nomination as the Surgeon General is his political activity. He is the founder of Doctors for Obama, which has morphed into Doctor for America, a PAC/Lobbyist group of med students and docs who supported the Affordable Care Act(Obama Care).

Based on their respective education, qualifications, and experience, I'd venture to say that we have the right guy in place if the Surgeon General plays a role in the Ebola outbreak.

Going way out on a limb here, but the latest thing I have seen today is a story regarding the ebola guy they have in Dallas is gravely sick.

I just worry that the present incompetent administration will start a program bussing them in as they have been bussing from our Southern border.

Maybe the NRA will be needed. Get some high ground, shoot them as they unload the bus.

I will accept the blame if they follow my recommendations on how to handle this situation. It really is not all that difficult.

That's makes as much sense as 2+2=a bucket of potatoe chip.

I tempted to ask where you born this dumb or did you have to work to get this way.

Ebola case counts is doubling each 20 to 30 days. See here: http://www.cdc.gov/vhf/ebola/outbreaks/ ... cases.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It is already out of control. In West africa they simply let the people die. In US, you would see forced isolation camps coming to infected areas.

Oh the Cases are underestimated by factor of 2X-3X. So far
1) Documented death cases are 3,400 it could be as high as 10,000 or more.
2) Documented infected cases are 8,000 it could be as high as 24,000 or more.

And they are doubling each 20-30 days.

I still say this is going to open us up for a new type of suicide bomber. Go to Africa, get infected and then come here to infect as many people as possible since the borders are as open as they are

That would be a pretty committed terrorist to go through that. It is a lot slower death than by bomb. It is a likely scenario in my opinion.

Not any different than a dirty bomb.
