Retired wildlife officer shoots bear in his house

Why did the media refrain from identifying what kind of bear it was? Why did the homeowner assume it was a repeat offender? Maybe he got in with the wrong crowd of bears. He may have been a good hearted soul who was just mixed up but trying to turn his life around and support his cubs.

I think the reporter got it wrong. He was actually shooting bare in his house. What goes on behind closed doors is none of my business...
