Shooters - What size is your hole?

A few days ago I was doing some knuckle dragging at a local gun store; perusing the gun racks and show cases. I won’t mention the name of the store, but it’s not a single location dealer. I wasn’t paying close attention to a fellow looking at bolt action rifles as he held a rifle, but a comment the salesman made caught my attention. The customer had just asked to examine a bolt action rifle which the salesman handed over the counter. It was apparent the customer asked about another rifle which the salesman removed from the rack and held. I didn’t hear the question, but the salesman’s answer as near as I can quote it was “they’re exactly the same except the hole is bigger on this one.” I listened more closely and realized he was comparing a 30-06 and a 25-06.

So I thought I would pose the question here - what size hole do you carry? I carry a .40 hole.

The only hole I do not have is a .50 hole. .45 hole is by far my favorite unless you are talking about my pie hole and that is quite big. I can fit my foot in it.

Sometimes, when I am slumming, I will ask sales people questions that I know the answer, just to see if they know what they are talking about. It depends on the particular store and product, but it's a 50:50 proposition.
I remember listening to a sales associate at Target explain to a lady about particular computer and internet access. The computer had Linux installed and he told her that it was just like Windows. I don't think she had a clue that she needed to get an ISP to access the internet.

Are you asking for the diameter of my hole at its surface? Or should I include the volume of the temporary and/or permanent channel?
