Old gun ID request

Back in the late 1960's my family and I were metal detecting in the Utah desert. We found this gun at the bottom of a 2 feet deep hole filled with garbage. It was wrapped in what appeared to be burlap. Last month I was helping dad clean out his house and found the gun again. I was wondering if anyone recognizes the grip logo or the trigger guard. I would love to know the approximate date of it. Thanks.

Interesting gun you have there. It's frame is similar to a M1895 Nagant, but not exact.

The interesting trigger guard was commonly seen on target pistols of the late 19th century.
It also looks a little like a Smith & Wesson Mod.3 Russian, but it's not. The Mod. 3 is a top break open gun & a single action:

The logo, I have NO idea. Are there any markings on the frame you can still make out?
