I have outgrown my current 24-gun safe and need a much larger one. I am looking for a large safe that is good enough to keep the kids out. I don't care as much about how much theft resistance or fire resistance it has. Any recommendations for a brand?

I have two of these especially for keeping grand children out. I caught them on sale one at Tractor supply and one at Gander for half price. They are heavy weight Locker type material with good locks ,not fire or determined thief resistant.

I am in about the same boat. My 24-gun safe and similar-sized steel locker are in a 38"x52" hall closet. I intend to rebuild that closet into a gunlocker/safe room. Steel door and frame, replace the sheetrock with 3/4" plywood, or something better.
Should be cheaper than a big safe.
Right now I'm looking for that 24x80 steel security door, and am surprised at how hard it has been to find one.

I bought one of these when they were on sale. For $800, I think it was a very good deal. Cabinets are great for keeping kids out but are very easy to break into. When you add up the value of all your firearms, spending a little more to get something that will stop most thieves makes a lot of sense.

My suggestion would be to buy a second safe over a bigger one (depending on if you have the space to put it). The reason I say this is because now potential thieves have twice as much work if they want to get to your firearms. You can split your guns between the two and lessen the overall probability that they would be stolen in a robbery.
