Anyone have any leads on a place to hunt hogs?

Public land? Private land? Day lease? How far do you want to travel? How much do you want to pay?

Private only, 24hr lease, will travel 300 miles from Austin. No budget set.

I have a picture in the hunting section of my brother and I at Tall Pines in East Texas.

I have heard good things about huntingtexashogs.com but I have never personally hunted with them. They are closer to you.

The Langley Ranch is another one I have heard great reviews on. Langley and Tall pines are real close together.

I use to hunt hogs from my back yard, but while asleep they wreaked havoc on my yard. I didn't kill enough of em...

I had a fence put up they can't penetrate.

I still see them on occasion outside the fence, but I'd rather do without shooting and eating them than wake up to my 1 1/2 acre looking like a root plow came through...

Good luck trying to find a spot other than a lease. You really need to know someone who knows someone. That or start beating on doors in rural areas and ask.

If you think $150.00 is unreasonable for a hog, you've no clue how much it costs to have a lease for deer, quail and doves, and no one who spends the money to do so is going to invite you to do so for free.

It costs to hunt in Texas unless you're family or friends.

$150 per hog is ridiculous. I'm fully aware of the costs associated with running a lease. $150 for unlimited hogs is fair. Back before hog hunting became a sport in its own, land owners would allow people to hunt them for free in the off season. You're doing them a favor. It wasn't that log ago that you could be paid per hog head.

In the mean time, if I wanted your opinion, I would have asked for it. I'm not looking for a free hunt.

Good luck then...you asked and we answered. Sorry you don't like the answers but after 4 years of asking "friends" and forums I gave up and went where I did and paid what I paid. I'm pretty certain that land owners allowing people to hunt for free is just a myth, everyone says it but no one ever seems to know anyone that has done it or can find anywhere to do it.
