Don't ya just love it when they try to educate about guns?...lol

I counted at least three different shots, one of which penetrated the fifth balloon, but did not seem to leave the fourth.

If you wanted it to stop in the first one you would fill it with British pudding.

One of my co-workers showed me this, after asking how many water filled balloons a .44 mag would
penetrate. Needless to say, I failed the test miserably.

Will someone explain why ?

I'm befuddled.

Okay. But, YouTube has multiple of videos of .357 and 9mm penetrating 10 or more jugs of water. I don't understand
the difference. Just slow I guess.

The velocity of a .44 mag and a .357 mag are approximately the same. However, the larger diameter and heavier bullet will have some affect on the resistance the water places against the slug. Additionally, I believe the water in the milk jugs will is more contained, so presents itself as more of a constant, where the balloons allow the water to basically 'move' with the projectile and slow the velocity. Think of hitting a piece of Sheetrock vs a foam pad of the same thickness; your hand goes through the Sheetrock, but is slowed down by the spongy pad.

Not to mention the original video bragged that they were using hollow point bullets...different result would be expected of a FMJ...
