I have been left with: Pefect elevation - No problem. Windage: Huge problem.

I have no further internal adjustment to bring the point of impact further left. I need a left windage adjustment of about 2 1/2" to 3". I can actually aim that much to the left of bulls eye and hit him square on, using Kentucky windage, but that's hardly ideal...

Any simple fix for this before dilemma, before I plunge into trying to correct something I've no clue how to correct?

Oh, you may want to know why the zero is no longer there as it once was.

The rifle was (monumentally/foolishly placed by me in a temporarily precarious position, leaning against a bureau, on a slick florr, then bumped by me, thus crashing to the floor, made worse by me trying to catch it before it hit the floor and not catching it, but actually pushing it, thus accelerating it's smashing into the floor)

After it hit the floor, I stood there dumbfounded with disbelief at my oafishness and hurled forth many self directed expletives at myself. What a colossally boneheaded move!

Thoughts on a fix?

P.S. I've looked at Youtube ideas for a fix and I'm still scratching my head...

Take it off and put it back on. Maybe try reversing the mount if it's a sort that will allow that.

Worst case, maybe you bent a ring. If it's a cheap mount, grab another one and see what happens. If it's an expensive mount, grab a cheap one from WalMart and try it.

Assuming the mounts are the problem - place mount in a vise and try to realign with a crescent wrench or tap with a block of wood. Cant do anymore damage then what you already have.

I'm voting for the mount being the problem also. Years ago I was trying to zero a Unertl target scope that I was testing before buying it. Despite all of my best efforts I could not get it to hold a consistent zero, and in those days I was a good enough shot to make one hole groups at 50 feet with my target rifle and regular sights. I took the scope back to the dealer, who was also a friend of mine, and the next day he called me and told me he had found out why it wouldn't hold the zero - the front mount was broken, but only just cracked, and every shot fired, even with a sub-sonic .22LR out of an 11 pound rifle, had enough recoil to jostle the setting.

Drop it in the other direction. ok fine not the best idea.
