Attending the Weather Watchers shindig Friday @ CBS 11 Studio in Ft Worth. Anyone know if the studios are posted?
All I can find is "Standard FCC regulations apply."

I worked there long ago. I believe it was posted at the time and probably still is. Only reason I don't recall for sure is that there was a no firearms policy in the handbook, therefore I couldn't legally carry anyway. I also rarely used the public front entrance.

There is tight security with guards 24/7, guardhouse to go to the back, and restricted access for anyone without a key card to most areas of the facility. All mail is opened outside and away from the building and X-rayed.

I wouldn't be concerned if you have to go in unarmed at this particular location. I'd be sure to be armed in the surrounding neighborhood though.

Thanks, I'll plan to leave it locked up in the car.

Small clarification, you could carry LEGALLY, but you could be fired for doing so. Only the 30.06 notification could get you arrested.

Assuming he was never in an orientation or an office meeting where the policy was verbally stated or just happened to hear someone in authority verbally state the policy which does not need to be stated in 30.06 language.

It is my understanding that a "no firearms on company property by an employee" given as written notice in an employee handbook is in fact effective notice. I'm neither a CHL instructor, nor an attorney. I would like to hear one's input on this. I have heard it in all of my CHL classes.

It is notice that you can be terminated, not that such a warning is necessary unless you are working under contract. It is not effective notice under Tex. Penal Code §30.06 for purposes of criminal prosecution. However, if anyone with authority over the property said anything to the effect of "notice the 'no guns' language in the handbook," then that's oral notice and it is effective notice under §30.06.

Went to the CBS 11 Studios today. The only sign posted is the old 30.05 sign. No 30.06 posting. I left the piece locked in the car any way.

Had a great time, lunch included. Also got a free "T" shirt and umbrella.
