It was a little snappy when I shot one as well but you can really pocket carry it. My shield on the other hand is to big in all reality. You can but it is meant to me on your hip. My wife has the LC380 which I think is a great .380 with little snap and still able to pocket carry. She loves it at least.

Shield and PPS is as small as I will ever go in 9mm but then again many love those pocket 9s. The more you shoot it the better you will get and the recoil will become less of a point.

I know you live up near my end of town as well, so you'll be able to relate to this. I stopped over Shiloh Shooting Range and they had both a Shield and an LC9s for me to shoot. After about 100 rounds, I decided I definitely like the Shield trigger better that the LC9s, but the LC9s trigger was also "acceptable" (Shield had crisper break and much shorter reset). I found both guns reasonably accurate, but my Shield groups were visibly smaller than the LC9s group size.

Then I had both guns side by side on the counter, and the length & height seemed pretty darn close. Visually they looked almost the same size.

So based on shooting alone, seems I should purchase the Shield. But you are not the only person I have heard say that the LC9s can be pocket carried but the Shield is really a little too big. Since I found the LC9s performance "acceptable", makes me wonder if I should go that route and have the option of pocket carrying.

As someone who has never pocket carried because I've always owned full size handguns, can you elaborate?

Guess my other option would be "one of each", but I am not really going that route. I need to make a choice.

There isn't a huge difference in size but it is enough to make the difference in the pocket.lc is slightly shorter and thinner in grip. Also the lc is a few ounces lighter. But the shield is a little softer shooting.
