Left handed ?

I had a freak thing happen last Saturday . Was driving to work and a pickup pulled out in front of me on a service road . Our 9 year old full size rat terrier was sitting on the seat next to me , she weighs about 25 pounds . I put my right arm out instinctively so she wouldn't fly into the dash , I stopped her but felt a flash of pain and heard something crunch in my right shoulder joint . Since then I can't hold my right arm up at all without considerable pain in the joint .
I'm not looking for sympathy at all , that's not the point of the post . The point is that I'm pretty much out of commission as far as reacting quickly to draw my pocket gun and would have to shoot from the waist . I had not planned on a situation like this but such a thing could happen to anyone . I'v tried shooting left handed several times in the past and it was always a fail , never really put much effort into mastering shooting with either hand . I think I'll start practicing some left handed , could be a good thing .
