I just bought this weapon and I am not completely happy with the trigger weight. I have been told that it can not be lightened. Is this true? If not, any suggestions on a good gunsmith that can do this is greatly appreciated.

That is the problem most have against the Sima. 9.5 lb pull at time seems like more. Not even sure if a smith can do anything with it.

I believe the pull can be reduced easily. I'll check on it and post later.

The following link should help you out.

You will also benefit by just dry firing it. How many times, 500+. After dry firing it and doing the polishing from the above link this should smooth out the trigger feel. It will lessen the pull very little, though.

After breaking it in you may find that the pull is not so bad.

thanks for the link to that site.
I purchased a SW40VE on wednesday and tried it out at the range today, completely bolluxed it, I thought, kept hitting the lower target when aiming at the top one. I honestly thought that I may have forgotten how to shoot. I 'made it work' by adjusting how I use the sights - turns out that it is a trait of the weapon *whew*; at least according to them: http://tinyurl.com/3y56bo

I really need to work on it
At least I can hit pretty dead-on with my Walther

The S&W forum has a lot of info and will most likely answer any Sigma questions you might have. I am an original owner of a 40v, only problem I have had was a broken striker. Sent it back to factory under warranty, no charge. The VE model is considered to be much improved over the early models. So, you should not have many problems. Many on the forum who have Sigmas have positive experiences.

I don't plan on getting rid of mine, it goes bang every time I pull the trigger and the bullet goes where it is suppose to. Give it some time and you should find that it will be a fine addition. If you have any problems contact customer service, lifetime warranty is always good.
