Very tough question. I have 2 Pistols I did not shoot yet.
1) BNIB Dual-tone Berretta PX4 Fullsize in 9mm
2) Ed Brown 1911 Custom.

What do I take to the Personal Protection Match at DPC? :anamatedbanana :hurry:

I wouldn't shoot any gun for the first time in a match without having already verified it's function and reliability. I understand those are supposed ot be two reliable and really nice handguns, but still. Maybe you could shoot the match with a gun you are already proficient with and shoot both of these a bit after the match, so you'll be GTG for the next match.

C-dub,

Yep, good advice. I had the exact issue with the SVI 1911 pistol I had last time at the range.
Then, I will shoot my trusty HK P30.

I think, I am itching for SIG 320 in 9mm Full Size, or at leat try one of the new M&P Core ported barrel in 9mm.

I'm shooting a Hi Power I just got. But bringing a M&P just in case. See you there.

My BIL recently got a M&P Pro 9mm and I haven't shot it yet. :grumble

That ported one also looks nice. I've never shot a ported gun, so don't know if I'd like it or not. Aren't ported guns prohibited from IDPA matches?

Easy answer - shoot both.
Or, shoot one Saturday, other at Sunday steel.
Or, shoot both, both days!

Also, another good idea and since our DPC matches are "friendly", and no pressure, I may take out The PX4 FS tomorrow, and if I decided to shoot steel, I will shoot both. I have enough magazines for both for real steel match.

Got enough spare mags for the new ones?

Yep, my carry is PX4 SC and I had before a PX4 FS (black). I have enough 17rders and 20rders.

I shot the PX4 FS and it worked like a Swiss Watch. The only thing I would change is add a spring to the decocker and thus no manual safety.

It was a fun day. Muddy but still fun. My Hi-Power ran perfectly today.

Browning HPs are battle proven pistols. Fabriqué National d'armes de guerre, Herstel Belgique is good company.

The SIG P320 shoots like a P226 on steroids. It is lighter and flips a bit more but that's just a question of getting used to it. The grip dimension and slide lock ergonomics are identical to a P226.
