where could I get one that would keep my sweat off the gun inside my back waistband?

Any links to moderately prices ones? (I think leather is not optimal, in this situation)

thank you

Try these holsters. ^^
I wear one of my comp-tac holsters almost exclusively.

Jeremae was able to fix either material or leather to one of his (I can't remember), and he says this makes it really comfortable for him. He made an exact cut-out of the side of the holster that touches his skin.

Some of the ladies on the Women & Guns forums take one of those wife-beater shirts (tight, sleeveless men's undershirts) and cut off the bottom half. They put the bottom half around their waists like a belt underneath their clothes. They say this helps with sweat & comfort.

I refuse to add another layer, so I haven't tried it. I'd rather just clean my gun more. It's something to think about.

Thanks, Venus
Does anyone make one that is not nearly as vertical as those?

I'm hoping for something with barrel and grip "canted"/angled more to grip with my right hand with a more "natural pull around my body" to point and not as much of a pull straight Up to unholster....and the barrel not so vertical, please.

The pictures may be misleading.

The Infidel has a 15 degree cant.

The C-TAC can be adjusted from 10 degrees to 25 degrees, but I didn't care for it as much. Most of the men that have tried it love it.

Others will post before long on kydex holster makers.

Forgive me, Venus

Is this the one you mean, please?
It looks like the cant is adjustable by using that other tie support strap.

If not the one you were refering to, please give me a link

And these models keep my copious perspiration away from the pistol?

AND are there any brands that make behind back IWB holsters that angle the grip down, so the user doesn't need to do a twisting grab on the gun?(even if the holster needs to ride somewhat higher on the beltline to do it...or even if I need to reach into waistband to grab the grip)

Galco's MOB (Middle Of Back) carries the gun with the butt low but it forces the user to make a Cavalry Draw and that normally sweeps the lower body with the gun.

nemesis,
that is the grip to right orientation that I want, but am wanting the muzzel to a definite cant(to the left), so a vertical draw is not needed.

And do they make synthetic models, or Something(not leather) that would protect my pistols from my unavoidable definite sweating in hot weather?

Your best bet is probably going to be the Comp Tac CTAC holster. It has a sweat shield that sits between your skin and the gun. So far I haven't had any issues with sweat getting on my gun so far.

Call Comp Tac and talk to them. I'm sure they have something that will work for you and you'll be supporting a Texas company as well.

Do you sweat on the gun if you wear a T Shirt?

I've become a big fan of Under Armor undergarments for their moisture-wicking properties. They may add another 10% toward a solution.

Robert Mika makes a holster that is built well. I sweat quite a bit too in the heat of the summer. His products are ugly, but really work well. He is an ex LAPD LEO. He started making them for himself, but now makes them for anyone wanting one.

I copied this off his website:

Mika's Pocket Holsters are proven to deliver a quick and reliable draw in any situation. This is possible because, unlike most leather holsters which have a tendency to retain moisture thus creating drag and causing the gun to stick, Mika's Pocket Holsters are constructed from a moisture resistant material which will keep the inner surface of the holster dry. Also, Mika's Pocket Holsters will prevent the corrosive effects of harmful body salts from reaching the surface of your firearm.

I would only add that Robert Mika is a heck of a nice guy and his product is cheap enough to try out and give away if you don't care for it.

The last pocket holster I bought from him was $15.00 shipped to my door!

carlson1,
I sweat so much in the summer that all my clothes are dripping wet.
(shirt, T-shirt, shorts, pants, socks....everything)

Thanks about the Robert Mika pocket holsters....I'll check more into them.

On modifying the C-Tac...

Actually I was complaining to my wife about the Kydex being against my skin requiring an undergarment(t-shirt) for my comfort and she came up with the idea of cutting out deerskin leather patches (found at Hobby Lobby) and hot gluing them to the side of the holster towards body. It really improved the "feel" to me so I could use the holster without a t-shirt. I also sweat alot and have had no real problems with my steel 1911 but I always wipe it down with oily rag when I take it off.

You could get the effect you want using a Left hand C-TAC and setting the cant butt down.

I'll keep that idea in mind (doesn't the suade or deerskin actually collect sweat or make the area hotter")

I think you are exactly right about getting a Left hand C-TAC and setting the cant butt down. I was thinking about that earlier.

thank you
