I'm all over this...Voting early is definetly convienient if the actual voting day doesn't work for you...
The turnout is going to be pathetic, and the most critical factor in this...
Noriega is a liberal, Morales is a conservative...
I have nothing personal against Melissa, I know her fairly well, but our politics are diametrically opposite...And we are both ok with that...We have always made nice whenever we've worked around projects in our area...I have a great respect for her, but I can't vote for her...And she understands that...No big deal...
I also know Roy Morales, we've been trying to get him in somewhere for a very long time...He is not a slouch politician, he has great credentials and is very active in the community as well...Obviously I lean in his direction...
I would prefer to have a few more conservatives on Houston City Counsel, and not have as bad a rubber stamp panel, which in our local form of government has given tremendous power to the mayors seat...So usually what the mayor of Houston wants, he/she usually gets...
I agree, turnout is going to be key...If you can vote early, please do so...
The power of your vote is going to be tremendous, considering how few people will actually vote...I think the numbers are your 1 vote will count for about 33 people in this run-off election...
And if you can poll a few folks (neighbors) with you, I urge you to do so...It is a responsibility we have, and should exercise as much, if not more than what we consentrate on in this forum...
If anyone in the City of Houston needs any info, by all means PM or email me...I will be glad give you what I can as far as early election polling locations as I can find for you...
I just care to make sure those who can and should vote be given every encouragement to do so...

+1 to everything you said above, Stevie-d-64.
Excellent summary.
Early Voting locations via Google map is
HERE
One error on the map however. The marker and address for Kingwood Firestation #102 is wrong . It is actually located at the other end of Lake Houston Parkway, near NorthPark by Krogers. It is
NOT at "west" Lake Houston Parkway

<SNIP>
Noriega is a liberal, Morales is a conservative...
<SNIP> ...
The Chronicle reemphasized their support of Noriega on today's editorial page.
I believe that the positions of Roy Morales are much closer to those of most of the CHLForum members and he would be the better choice to further our interests.
Please take the time to check the candidates' webpages and
VOTE

Good thing I don't bother reading anything of importance in the Houston Comical...
I would also remind everyone that the citywide election in November of this year is also putting up another district (District "E") that Addie Wiseman (big time conservative) is having to vacate due to term limits...
So having these two seats remain conservative would be a good thing, I don't much care for rubber stamp city counsels...And I have had my run of 3 minute public forums downtown...
I would like to have some opportunities to do 3 minutes with something good to say to these folks that put up, and ran for these seats...
Having a good balance is good for this city...
Just something to keep in mind...
