We are moving into a new, smaller, house and have some antique dining room furniture that we would like to get appraised before we start selling it. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good furniture appraiser - we are in Denton county near Denton, TX.

It's a little bit removed from Oak Point, but my neighbor across the street owns Farina's in Grapevine, which is a combination antique store / eatery. He's appraised some genuinely OLD antiques that we have in our house, so I know he can provide the service, and he might even be interested in buying your stuff for his store.

Ask for Gary Farina.

Appraisal is one thing. Selling is another and antiques are hard. Consignment or Auction - most likely, if they're really valuable stuff. I've never had *any* of it sell fast... needs the right buyer, even when priced aggressively.
