They took down the 51% sign that was there last year.
I was in there last week. I was prepared to go out to the car, but the sign was gone.

Remember, there does not need to be a 51% sign for you to be in violation.
I am not familiar with Bone Daddy's so I do not know if it should be posted or not.

If the business is a bar, and only a bar, I should be able to determine that but, if the business is diverse; I need to find out.
I'd just get an accountant to review their books and determine whether 51% of their revenue was received from the sale of alcohol for consumption on the premises.
If I couldn't get access to their books, I'd look for a 51 sign. TABC requires that the signs be prominently displayed at all entrances and they'd be easy to find. If they are required to have the signs up and aren't doing it, I'd suspect they are in violation.
If I get charged for being in possession of a concealed handgun on the premises of a business that's in violation of State law, I'll own the business before it's over.

There's a Bone Daddy's in Austin off 183 just south of Duval . . . it's basically a BBQ restaurant . . . went there a couple of times with a group from work, but not recently.
I remember it for so-so food, waitresses dressed at about a "PG-13" level, and some liquor served, but I'd be very surprised if booze accounted for 51% of their business.

The liquor license should state if they are 51% or not. Either RED sign or BLUE sign.

Thats curious...Has anyone ever figured out the significance of the color difference???
Red or Blue???
I've seen both...But its not something I investigate on the spot...
Or even if its that big a deal...Maybe its not...

Dude, look at the post immediately following yours in this thread:

The red license means 51% or greater, the blue license means it is less than 51%.

The one in Dallas isn't posted at all.....I go there often and carry all the time. Guess I should look into this personally.

You have to be pretty close to the license to see it - it's probably 12 point type near the center of the license. SIGN=RED means they are a 51% establishment (and the few 51% signs I've seen have had the '51' in red). SIGN=BLUE means they're under the 51% mark and should not be displaying the sign.
It's been brought up several times that even if the establishment doesn't display the 51% sign, you can still be found guilty of illegal carry if you are armed on the premises. However, I haven't heard knowledgeable comment on carrying when they inappropriately have the 51% sign posted. Sounds expensive to me...

The one Dallas off 75 used to have the 51% sign. I noticed it when waiting for my CHL last year.
The majority of the stuff they sell is food. They may have been audited and were told to remove the sign.
An example of a poorly posted place is Gecko's off Windhaven W of the Tollway in the Colony in Austin Ranch.
A perusal of the tables shows they sell a lot of beer and drinks. But they sell a lot of food as well. So its a toss up. Its similar to TGIF.
There is a 51% sign by just one of their doors, but it is not a regulation sign. You cannot see the color nor the 51% background. You can go in the other doors and not see it or even the one door and not see it. This one door is the one closest to the bar.
