UT Beer & Wine Sales

UT announced today it will begin selling beer and wine at football games.
This improves campus safety for those seeking to watch a football in what way?
Likely to be one of the most heavily restricted "campus carry" campuses in the state.
Just goes to show you, what we all know....money talks!
If we paid UT more for Campus Carry rights, they'd be all in.

How clever! I wonder if the campus will be littered with 51% signs :smilelol5:

It was a long time ago that the SEC banned alcohol in their stadiums. I wonder why....

Nothing like a bunch of screaming drunks to enhance your stadium experience. :cheers2:

If I cared to watch a UT game I'd do it from the comfort of my living room.

UT selling beer and wine? No, I'm pretty sure that alcohol is banned at Neyland Stadium and all other SEC games.

Go Vols!

I'm a work near ut. There are enough drunks running around the area beer at games will add to the trouble

Why do we keep selling beer in Texas. Don't we have enough drunks already?

You are blaming the alcohol as the problem. This is like blaming guns for murder.

Behavior and lack of self control are the problem.

We need background checks, waiting periods, registration and elimination of the "sharing a beer with a friend" loophole. Also, all alcohol containers should have consumer unique stamps when opened so that spent casings, I mean containers, can be tracked to the user who discarded the container. Also, open and concealed carry of alcohol should be prohibited except to and from property you own or control. This is common sense. Because drunks obey laws.

It's all about the money! The Longhorn "brand" (sorry, Bevo) is one of the most valuable out there. Their marketing is endless, pervasive and very successful.

I've been an active member of the Longhorn Alumni Band for a long time. Each year I attend I am surprised that the burnt orange vests we wear at appearances aren't festooned with ads, like a NASCAR driver or something. Everything else seems to be.

The funny thing is that at DKR we are perpetually incited to "Gimmee a T!" If you go to the concession stand and demand, "Gimmee a T!", they tell you they have none, only soft drinks and water.

I believe Red McCombs is quoted to have said all the money that isn't in the Catholic Church is at UT!

I propose an alcoholic beverage consumption license... $140 for 5 years and a 10 hour course including a "chug test" and field sobriety test.

And while we're at it, let's do something about those SOBER drivers. Did you know over 75% of car accidents (negligents...?) are caused by sober drivers. Let's get 'em off the road.
