tactically speaking, dude shoulda just taken cover, not tried to follow them outside.
but, he did hit one, so +200pts for him!

should he get fired? of course! he violated Pizza Hut policy. course, maybe he shouldn't have been working there if packin' heat was a priority for him. don't know what Florida law is, but maybe ol' SB533 would be a good idea for them.

I'd rather be fired from Pizza Hut than be carried by six... or something like that.

Don't take that story as gospel. No doubt there are plenty of inaccuracies in it. The main stream media has a bad habit of slanting the story.

My husband worked delivery for two different pizza restaurants while in college. I know that at least one of them had a weapons policy. (Drivers couldn't have weapons on them or in the vehicle while making deliveries.)

This policy bothered me. A kid I went to high school with was shot while making a delivery to another high schooler. (It's no surprise that the thug that shot the delivery kid is now a registered sex offender.)

Pizza delivery people are at a somewhat compromised position when it comes to robbery. I think they should be encouraged to carry.

My understanding is that a lot of pizza places have policies agaimst carrying but generally look the other way unless a driver actually has to use it. Then they fire the driver. There was a case history in Chris Bird's latest book about a pizza driver in Indianapolis who had this happen. A couple times I think.

They can only fire you if you're still alive.

Fair trade, in my book.

A couple of years ago Pizza Hut fired a driver for shooting an armed perp who attacked him.

Police said it was a good shoot.

Nonetheless, Pizza Hut fired him - in the warped little world view of Pizza Hut executive management, it's better for an employee to be injured or killed than it is for him to violate "policy."

There are other - better! - places to get pizza; whenever possible, I boycott blatantly "anti" businesses like Pizza Hut.

Many companies nowadays don't even pretend to value their employees, and Pizza Hut is obviously one of them.

Their pizza [deleted], too.

Sad but true. Apparently Pizza Hut does see their employees as expendable.
