“He could have used a warning,” Lakesha Thompson, Pipkins’ sister-in-law, said. “He could have let him know that he did have a gun on his property and he would use it in self-defense.”
Since the two witnesses appear to be the (living) homeowner and the (deceased) home invader, inquiring minds want to know A) by what manner of sorcery does Lakesha know that no warning was issued, and B) who cares what she thinks?

I would provide a warning to the home invader. When he calls me to warn me that he's about to kick in my front door, I'll let him know that when he does he is likeley going to be shot.
No pre warning on home invasion = no pre warning on defending myself

After all he just didn't know that breaking into someone's house was against the law.

I remember a door mat that read the door you just broke down was for your protection, not mine.

More evidence of the shift to a narcissistic society of victimized people.
It's all about me. I'm offended. I'm a victim. I deserve what you have. I do know wrong.

How bout a list of the dumbest things said?
For starters:
1. Why didnt the cop just wing him?
2. 13 shots is way too many - 1 is enough.
3. Why didnt the homeowner warn that he had a gun?
4. Why did they have to kill him?
5. They wouldnt have killed him if he was white.
6. He was just getting his life together.
7. Hands up, dont shoot.

Don't forget, "he was a good kid. He just made a bad decision or was at the wrong place at the wrong time?.

If and only if I grab one of my revolvers first instead of a semi, would he get a warning. And that would be the slight sound of me pulling the hammer back

Checked out a few other links there and found the mentality of Mom's explained: they know how dangerous guns are in the hands of people like themselves.
http://bearingarms.com/moms-demand-lead ... ning-guns/
In some recently breaking details, it’s just been learned that a Moms Demand Action leader was slapped with a protective order in April of 2013. What’s remarkable though is that Shannon Watts kept her on board for the last 16 months. The court order can be viewed here.
Erika Quinn who described herself as a Moms Demand Action leader for Oklahoma, was ordered by the courts to remain 300 yards or more away from the children named in the order, as well as surrender any and all firearms that she may own.

Unbelievable. Sounds like there was no question about the guy already coming into the house when the homeowner shot.

So we're obligated to warn home invading criminals that we're willing and able to defend ourselves.
With this warning, said criminal will simply respond with "my bad" and move on down the road to a less hostile home invading environment, eh?
Ms. Thompson doesn't give any thought that Mr. Pipkin probably knew possibly getting shot is part and parcel of his occupational hazard.

Unfortunately for society, there is a portion of the population who believe that what we would term "thug behavior" is not only more-or-less normal, but behavior to be glorified and promoted. Where we point out that actions have consequences, the only time that is a simple statement for them is when one thug kills another. When a victim refuses to act appropriately and fights back, injuring or killing one of them there are always cries of "he was a good kid", "turning his life around", etc... Almost without exception (I'll assume for the sake of argument that 100% of the time is not technically accurate) facts clearly show the falseness of these statements, and that the actions of the victim to stop the asocial behavior focused on them were appropriate to the circumstances.
The only good fight is the one you avoid. When an attacker makes a good fight impossible the only proper response is to do what is needed, with utmost haste and conviction, to prevail -- and that doesn't mean "fighting fair", "warning shots" or the like, because fighting for your life (or your loved one's) is no time to cede any advantage to your attacker.

Didn't I read about this two years ago? I still have the same thought I had back then: For some stupid reason, criminals think they are entitled people. NOT!

Sad to see how this Nation and State has gone down the tubes like this.
