Without knowing what the security was doing or asking the response by the cop was a bit weird.

The police officer went to bat for the property owner citing the constitution, his own oath, and defending both the man's property rights and rights under the 4th Amendment. It actually brought a tear to my eye. :cheers2:

Armed neighborhood security? I've got the old bag from the HOA patrolling mine with a clipboard and it makes me nervous.

Any context? The old saying is the devil is in the details.

I wondered about that, too. My vivid imagination came up with a conclusion similar to my own situation. A nearby HOA controlled neighbor decided that her neighborhood rules also applied across her back fence to our non-HOA neighborhood and used police dispatch as her weapon to try to enforce her desires. What she was reporting was not illegal and our local officers were not nearly as clear with her as the officer in the video. I can imagine that going to the next level if the HOA employed its own security as some do.

Property rights seem to have become "fluid". Perhaps the real story in the video is not even close to my imagination.

My guess...HOA president doesn't like fireworks and tried to use the hired security to bully homeowners.

Police officer had a point to make with emotion and passion to a passively listening security officer.

I am not sure the back story is important as the police officer's words stand on their own merits. :patriot:

Another time and place for me... "Bravo Zulu" officer!
