Ever Spray Paint A Black AR Stock FDE?

If so, how well did it match the rest of your FDE furniture?

I'm considering buy a Black B-5 Bravo stock (used) and spray painting it.

Yes, I could leave it black, but it would look kinda gnarly with FDE everything else...

Thanks!

Why not buy the stock already FDE? Unless you've just got a black one laying around? There can be subtle variations between 'FDE's' depending on manufacturer with different amounts of brown, red, or yellow.

I've got an aerosol can of Duracoat on the way so I can paint a lower, upper, & hand guard to match a Magpul 'stealth gray' grip & stock I picked up cheap. Was going to have the rifle Cerakoted, but there's no direct color match, and it kind of defeats my 'budget SBR' theme anyway.

http://www.lauerweaponry.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; has a color picker.

Scott B.,

Because I'd have to buy a new one and saw a used black one advertised in like new condition for $40.00 shipped.

However, that deal went be the way side, so if I want a FDE, I'll have to keep looking or buy new.

Thing is I don't know if I'm going to like it, so I thought I'd buy used and if I don't like it, it's not so painful...

My reading skills are lacking :???:

That said, people rattle can their rifles all the time. I've seen some really amazing paint jobs, not sure how durable they are, but I think that's also part of the charm?

Scott B.,

Right you are.

I'll keep looking for awhile and if I can't find one used, I'll plunk down the cash for new.
