The Dump Signed incorrectly

This weekend I was at the dump on 45 north. When we were walking up they had a sign saying gun free zone in black and white. My wife stops me and tells me to go lock up my gun. Taking a bigger look at the door there was no 30.006 sign so I had a little chuckle. I went in and asked a salesman what is up with that sign? He told me they just put it up and now have a policy in place that employees cannot carry in the store. He knows the sign is not legal but the store is pushing to be a legal non carry store. Shame I wont be shopping there when this happens.

Dont ever mention a sign being wrong, take their ignorance of the law to your advantage. Dont ruin it for the rest of us.
I do apologize as that was not my intent.

No need to apologize lildave40. No foul, no harm. As they just put it up(yesterday, last week, last month), and it's a new sign, the question you posed was perfectly legitimate & valid. I did the same thing about a month after getting my CHL, when I went into a building to drop off an insurance payment. I went to the building manager's office & mentioned that their old sign was not valid. Not illegal, but not a valid, enforceable "no guns" sign. The lady looked at me like I was crazy. In one ear, and out the other. And they never changed the sign. They just didn't care.

Just consider it a rookie mistake and move on.
What is this place, a dump or a store?

It is a store called "The Dump". However, IMHO, it is anything but a dump. They sell furniture, most of it (at least to my humble blue-collar eyes) is rather expensive-looking, and the prices they want reflect that. YMMV.

I don't believe he was speaking to your comments but rather the ones who were talking about not mentioning a unenforceable sign and that you shouldn't ever mention it to the management. That attitude has been used as propaganda by anti's before. By the way those opinions are not universal to everyone. There are legitimate reasons to mention or question unenforceable signs. It is just that the "don't mention it" crowd is a bit more militant about it which makes it seem more wide held than it actually is.

The area around "the dump" is not what i would call safe. I never go without my gun when i go to frys there. Besure to keep stuff out of sight in your car it will be broken into.

That Fry's is one of only a handful of places where I've been accosted by a sad sack sob story. I remember it vividly because I had forgotten my pistol that day (of course). I hate being approached by random people.

As evidenced by the poll responses?

Using the term militant in reference to those of us that don't believe in educating someone on how to ban us with our weapons is an unwarranted insult.

Well was it a mandatory poll and I wasn't aware? Or is it possible that some saw the topic and just didn't want the grief? And yes I think militant fits but I don't think it is an insult just descriptive. Heck you woke up a dead thread just to, I don't know, correct me?
