Education requirements for Texas State Troopers?

I'm looking through the Texas DPS site at the requirements to apply to become a Texas State Trooper, purely curiosity, and I see where college credit is a requirement. However, what I don't see is if a specific degree is required to satisfy the requirement, or if any degree from a college or university would satisfy that requirement? Anyone around here have an answer to that question? Also, is prior law enforcement experience a requirement to apply?

From here http://www.dps.texas.gov/trainingAcadem ... cation.htm
Applicants must have a minimum of 60 college earned hours from a regional accredited college or university. Prior law enforcement or military experience at the following ratios may substitute for required semester hours:

Semester Hours Law Enforcement/Military
0-15 Plus 24 months
16-30 Plus 18 months
31-45 Plus 12 months
46-59 Plus 6 months
A degree is not required, but a degree in criminal justice would be a plus. More info at the link above.
