According to Kyle Police, the man was injured after the gun went off as he was moving it.

Given the lack of actual information, there's got to be more to the story. But we'll probably never know.

Sounds like he was either removing the gun or rearming after pick up. A gun left in a proper holster would not go off, even in the school. FOr 3 years running, I have had to disarm daily to walk my son into school and again for pick up much of the time. It's an unnecessary inconvenience, risk (holstering/unholstering the gun in confines of the car) and pain in the rear.

I saw that and thought about the intention of that evil gun being disturbed and going off all angry and whatnot. Clearly, he shouldn't have disturbed it.

The comments have been ridiculous. People flipping out that a gun was on school grounds, people saying he should be charged for having a gun on school grounds and for having a gun without a permit.

So many ignorant anti-gun people.

If I'm going somewhere that I know I will have to disarm, I carry in a Don Hume leather IWB clip holster .... the gun is never removed from the holster, either into the waist band or out. Added safety measure ;)
