I have never thought that the trade off of price and usability for a slightly quieter sound on most of the rifles and pistols I own. That being said I would never have said I would buy a silencer until I saw this thing. It works on tons of calibers making it a one stop shop for a silencer.

It's cool that it will fit more than one type of firearm. When I bought my AAC suppressor, I deliberately bought a .30 caliber can because it could be used on either my .308 or my 5.56 weapons. But it can't be mounted to a pistol..........yet.

When did they come out with that? I bought 5 suppressors in Jan. - May of this year and could have really trimmed that down had I known of this one.

The Liberty Mystic-X has been out for a while now and is much the same thing. While they don't list .22lr you can use the 1/2x28 fixed barrel adapter for use on my .22 rifles/pistols. SilencerCo is coming out with the Hybrid in 2016 that is in this same vein. I think were these types of cans really shine is to cater to buyers like the OP who don't necessarily need/want a half dozen cans. Rather they'd like one can to swap between guns. I think the trade-off is going to be a "jack of all trades, master of none" type situation. Will they be the best 5.56 can, or the best 9mm can? Probably not. But they'll do a decent enough job that the casual user will benefit from their versatility.
