I know this part will upset Charles...
Also, despite the vulnerability older people might feel, there is a "code'' among criminals against attacking women, children and the elderly, said Lt. Reginald Eakins, who's in charge of the division of the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office that issues concealed-carry licenses.

"I personally don't think that criminals target senior citizens, but I do think senior citizens are better targets — for obvious reasons,'' Eakins said. "Even criminals tend to frown on other criminals targeting the elderly.''
Yep, I guess Lt. Eakins didn't see the reports/video of the attacks on those elderly women in NYC...Least of all in his own jurisdiction...
The Cleveland area has had a spate of high-profile attacks on seniors. Two seniors were killed in the city's Slavic Village neighborhood in recent months, including the March beating death of 78-year-old Joseph Krasucki.
But this guy here has it right!
Geis, of Stark County, isn't taking any chances. He refuses to rely on the habits of criminals and even law enforcement for his personal protection. He would rather count on his gun.

"That's the last thing a criminal wants to see,'' he said.

Interesting. I am originally from Cuyahoga County. Ohio's laws have come a long, long way in the last few years. I never would have thought that they would even allow CCW. It seems like the mindsets of some of the public officials are slower to change than the laws.

I guess Lt. Eakins hasn't ever heard of the law of the jungle - - - Prey on the old, sick, injured, and very young. That's the only code 99.999% of the BGs adhere to.

My recent experience tends to support this point of view.

He might have a point her guy's. I mean when was the last time you have seen a nightly news broadcast that covered a pedophile....wait that was last night. Ok, rape is so rare that....wait, saw that last night as well on the news....alright, but he may have a point with the elderly....uh, no was it just a couple of weeks ago that national coverage was given to a man assulting a 90+ year old vetran while a group of cowards watched. Shucks, tried to give him the benefit of the doubt. Guess we need to pass him his sign........:biggrinjester:

I like how they flattened the CHL trainer's tires the last time his gun opinions were published. Gotta love those peaceful liberals!
