H & K OWNERS

H & K owners be warned. I accidentally drop my USP Compact into the mud this evening as I fed. When I brought the pistol in to unload and clean it I found that it would not cycle and allow me to remove the round in the tube. After some cleaning I was successful. It may have functioned if I shot it. Back to a 1911 for SD,

I don't want to start a war here, but I doubt you would have gotten a much different result with a 1911 (or any other semi-auto design for that matter)

What exactly was keeping it from cycling?

1911s are picky with ammo. not the case with HK or Beretta. All firearms are susceptible to jamming and the that included all trusted 1911s.

But a Glock could never possibly jamb in that situation... I have seen some guy on the Youtube in the interweb bury his G21 in mud and it fired over and over again. Glocks can't possibly jamb... they will shoot 100% mud if they have too, but they will keep shooting. Oh.. AKs too, they will never jamb either. :reddevil

Carry what you want, train with it, know its limitations, have a back up, don't hesitate to finish the job with an edged weapon if necessary.

I can give that gun a good home for you, there's no reason for either of you to be unhappy. I'll even pay for shipping. No need to thank me, I'm happy to help

:iagree:

I already have two of its brothers, and I don't have any mud at my house.

:iagree: I'm third in line.

12-round USP-c mags fit my P2000SK. I already have a few.

Nothing obvious. I finally just field strip and cleaned it. It fell left side down into a mud "BED"which was fairly solid with no water. Now I really like this pistol, but I've put a 1911 the the mud the blood and the beer
(as Johnny said) . I've never had a problem with a 1911. The H & K will make a great night stand weapon.

I never intended for this to be a petty contest pitting one pistol against the other. I just wanted to warn fellow H & K owners of the my problems. I love the H & K and have carried it for 5 years now with no other hiccup ( hence the gushing review I have given it.). I think it may just have very tight tolerances. I actually bought this pistol for my wife ( she liked her current carry better......lesson learned) but I have been very happy she rejected it.

Hey, it's all good. We were funning you. I carried a USPc .40 for a while. Great gun, but I never did a mud challenge with it, so I've never had the experience with it that you had.
