Taking the family for the first time. Regardless of recent events, I've always been cautious about large crowds, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Plus, I'm not about to put our lives on hold by shutting us out from the world.
And, I have to admit I love Christmas gatherings and Christmas lights.
Has anyone ever been? Are they posted? Do they search bags or wand patrons?
I plan on taking a small pack for carrying gloves, hats, etc since it will be a bit nippy at night. And my wife will most likely be carrying in her purse.
Thanks and Merry Christmas!

According to Texas 30.06, they are not posted, but it may have just not been reported yet. If you're driving your own car through I don't think it will make a difference.

Doing the carriage ride (bonus points with the wife). From what I've learned they stopped the drive through years ago. I remember when I was 7 or 8 my aunt took a bunch of us through Austin's trail of lights and when I was in high school it was walking only. Probably for the better. I just remember a lot of dust and crowding from the cars.
Peoria, IL has a parade of light sculptures through downtown. Then they park them at this huge city park and you can drive through until New Year's. One of those awesome cheesy traditions that's worth seeing at least once.

My son, DIL and granddaughters have been several times, and really like it. I have no idea about 30.06 and my son wouldn't know what to look for.

I have several CSPD friends. They said they haven't noticed a 30.06 there.

Good, because, other than A&M in general, Santa's Wonderland is probably the biggest potential target in the Brazos Valley

The visit went well, my family had a great time. No 30.06 signs, no security wands. Saw a few deputies as security.
Great family environment, but extremely crowded. I have to admit that I had to bite my tongue several times with line cutters and rude adults. It would have been a rough story to tell about fighting at Santa's Wonderland! Most people were patient and dealt with long lines accordingly.
