Me too, I don't miss a single run or ride. That's awesome! Mostly bullriding for me, a little calf roping, and I do love to throw a few steers every now and then.TXBO wrote:I never miss a round of it. I do some team roping and both of my girls barrel raced prior to going to college. My older daughter actually won the Lane Frost scholarship.
Wow that is awesome, I love looking at old pictures of old rodeo's, so much has changed! I wish there was more video.OldCurlyWolf wrote:I don't watch it on tv because I don't get that channel.
I used to go to the NFR when it was in Oklahoma City.
My dad was RCA in the 40's to the mid 60's.
Yessir! Started a week ago, comes on cbs sports at 9:00. Now is a good time to pick it up, 8th round is tonight and things are getting gritty! The Annoyed Man wrote:Didn't know it was on. I like watching rodeo, and going to a rodeo is fun, but I'm not such a big fan that I know any of the competitors' names or their standing in the rankings. But I'll watch it when I'm channel surfing and come across a rodeo.
LOL! I'm too smart to get on the back of a bull and too small for bulldogging. I did try bulldogging one time after a few beers (maybe more than a few) and it was mighty painful. Sweet! Where was that?jb2012 wrote:Haha then you're smarter than me! I wish I was still at it. This is me when I "thought" I was riding good lol
The one on the left was in denton, I actually won that one! The one on the right is in saginaw at a high school rodeo.TXBO wrote:Sweet! Where was that?jb2012 wrote:Haha then you're smarter than me! I wish I was still at it. This is me when I "thought" I was riding good lol
That is awesome! you got to see some of the legends first hand! I just can't get away from itRPBrown wrote:I "retired" from bull riding in 1989. Rode for 15 years. I loved it but funny thing is, I haven't been to a rodeo since I rode my last one.
It's just not the same now with the vests, helmets, and all of the padding they wear. Takes out some of the excitementjb2012 wrote:The one on the left was in denton, I actually won that one! You are correct. It's just the "old school" in me.Abraham wrote:It also helps young men to keep from being permanently injured.
I'm all for it.
We don't see anyone complaining about the gear the NFL guys wear...
