Texas resident, FL CHL

I know this question has been posted before, I just want to make sure that I have the most recent and accurate info...because I'm getting conflicting info...
I'm a Texas resident with a Texas drivers license. I live in FL part time, in the winter. I would like to get my CCW permit in Florida. I know Texas has reciprocity with Florida. My question is this...several of the folks in FL that I talked to about their CCW classes said my FL permit would be no good in Texas if I'm a Texas resident, only if I were a FL resident. So I would be running afoul of the law if I had a Texas drivers license with a FL permit?
I can find nothing online to confirm or deny this. Does anybody here have anything definitive?

Florida has non-resident LTC permits, and it has reciprocity with Texas. So as long as the information is correct on your LTC is correct, you would not be in violation of any law.

Not sure if they make the distinction of Resident vs Non-Resident for the purposes of their CHL but it looks like they don't require you to live in the state to have one.

There are a couple of states (PA being one) that have made it part of their reciprocity agreement with Florida that Florida will not issue non-resident permits unless the holder has a home state permit. Texas is not one of them. So you could have a FL permit and a TX permit and both would be recognized by both states.

I'm a TX resident, born and raised. Took the class called 4HRCHL and the one given to us, was a FL CHL. I've been pulled over a few times, young and I modify my cars, and not a single officer has given me any problems with my FL CHL/LTC.

I have both, nothing wrong with having both, or just going with one or the other. No one should bother you about it.

Texas DL?
Make sure you get a FL NON-Resident "Concealed Weapon or Firearms License". Texas will honor it.
Only caveat is that Federal GFSZA will exempt you from Federal carry prohibition in a "school zone" (as defined in GFSZA) only in FL, not in TX unless you also have a TX license.
